With a passion for learning, exploring and sharing her knowledge, Kimberley has spent most of her working life within the tourism industry. Spending a number of years living abroad in Mexico, she trained and worked as a SCUBA diving instructor before founding a tour company in the small fishing village of Mahahual. Having worked for a year helping to run a nation-wide independent business and for a second year as a consultant in a local architect’s office while settling back into UK life, she knew it was time to get out of the office and do some work she truly loved.

Initially with the intention of setting up her own tour company here in her native South West, she researched the market and, upon finding the fantastic reputation of Select South West Tours decided, to contact James to ask if he would be willing to discuss the merits and obstacles of founding a tour business in the UK. James happened to be looking to expand his company, as he was becoming so popular he couldn’t keep up with the demand. Upon first meeting Kimberley, they both knew it was a good fit, both sharing a real passion for both Devon and Cornwall as well as meeting new people and showing them all the local hot spots.

Growing up in Cornwall, when she would be regularly sailing up and down the coast or driving out to one of the many beautiful beaches, Kimberley has a wealth of knowledge of the local area and a real drive to share her love of the South West with visitors.

Kimberley has led an extremely diverse and interesting life, being very involved in outdoor activities from a young age she grew up sailing, both along the Devon and Cornish coastlines as well as across to France with the family for their summer holidays. Her adventurous nature only grew as she got older; she learnt how to fly as a Midshipman in the University Royal Naval Unit, acquired her Yacht Master Certification during the same period, has taught SCUBA diving on the Caribbean Coast and the Baja Peninsula in Mexico as well as in the islands of Bermuda and completed the North Coast 500 – a 500 mile loop around the top of Scotland, from Cornwall, which made it quite a bit further! She also enjoys camping out with her partner Toby in their new Toyota Land Cruiser, fitted out with a handy roof tent.

With Dartmoor and Cornwall right on the doorstep who could ask for a better place to be based than the beautiful maritime city of Plymouth.
